White reflects all wavelengths of the light colour spectrum. Many of the 3 dimensional sculptures / montages are white to reduce forms and structures to light and shadow. The inherent message such as in the “Parables” exhibition series becomes aesthetically reflective and clearer when purified from colourful emotions. The white sculptures are influenced by and reminiscent of the snowy winter landscapes of my Bavarian alpine childhood when frequent blizzards of fine powder snow reduced all landscape features to glistening white sculpture.
The Atlantis II series of sculptures are also designed to be exhibited outside.
Some of the ‘sculpture’ images shown below were originally photography sculpture projects such as ‘BabelWords’ and ‘Leaves’ and available only as signed limited edition prints of 1/7 – clearly marked in image descriptions.
